Terms Overview

In simple terms, TGBE will not:

  • sell your data;
  • spam your e-mail address;
  • steal your ideas;
  • associate commitment amounts with personal data (i.e. if your commitment was in excess of the final price, the group buy runner will only know that your commitment was at or over the final purchase price); nor
  • act in bad faith.

The following documents are meant to protect TGBE from bad actors, and they apply site-wide. They are lightly modified from boilerplate copy that’s typical everywhere. Should this experiment work, our lawyers will undoubtably expand on these protections for both end-users and the company, and we will commit to being transparent and fair about these policies.

This Privacy Policy document contains information on how data is collected and used by The Group Buy Experiment by greyworks (henceforth TGBE), accessible at thegroupbuyexperiment.com and tgb.link.

This Policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

TGBE follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Like other websites, TGBE may use ‘cookies'. Cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. TGBE’s Privacy Policy does not apply to other third-party websites employed by TGBE. TGBE does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13.
