How TGBE Works
For Buyers
On TGBE, you participate in a group buy by committing any dollar amount that you determine. At the end of the commitment period, all buyer commitments amounts will disclosed to the group buy runner so they can select a price.
During the settlement period, your credit card may be charged for an amount up-to-and-including your commitment. If it is not charged, it is likely your commitment fell below the chosen price. At this point, you should receive e-mail notification of the chosen price and an option to join in the group buy at that price.
Payment Policies
When you commit to a group buy, you are committing to spend up-to-and-including the committed amount for the buy. Any additional/applicable taxes, shipping, handling will be charged once the group buy is ready for shipment. Group buy runners are responsible for communicating any potential charges above your commitment.
Refunds
Before the commitment period is over, you may revise or back out of your commitment by contacting us using the e-mail address associated with your commitment. Currently, there is no way to do this through the website.
Once the commitment period is over, TGBE offers no refunds as funds for the Group Buy are transferred to the Group Buy Runner once the Group Buy has been executed.
Group Buy Runners may refund your purchase at their sole option. Please contact them directly.
Reimbursements
In the event that a group buy is cancelled before or during the settlement period, any charges to your credit card will be refunded.
In the rare event that a group buy is cancelled or cannot be completed after the settlement period, the group buy runner is responsible for reimbursing you to every extent possible. In participating in TGBE, you acknowledge that TGBE is a platform that facilitates group buys. It is not a vendor of products, nor does it hold customer inventory.
Returns
TGBE is a group buying platform. It is not a store. Any returns, exchanges, or customer support requests should be directed to the group buy runner who, as part of listing on TGBE, makes a customer service option available.
While TGBE makes great efforts to ensure group buy runners operate their group buys with integrity, there may be a small percentage of group buy runners who violate our trust and the trust of group buy participants. TGBE will assist in group buy commitment recoveries to the extent it can as TGBE values trust.
Price Protection
TGBE requires that all products sold on-platform must not sell their products at a price less than the Group Buy Price for at least 6 months following the anticipated delivery date, nor may they deliver equivalent products prior to delivery of the product listed on TGBE.
Again, TGBE take efforts to ensure runners operate with integrity and trust, and play fair. If you feel a runner/maker has broken that trust, please reach out.

For Group Buy Runners
Group Buy Runners are the persons or people responsible for listing and delivering a group buy.
Runners may be the maker, designer, friend, contractor, employee, and/or collaborator of the group buy with the rights and abilities to sell a product on TGBE under the conditions set forth within.

How do I contact support?

Is TGBE a vendor of products?
No. TGBE is a technology platform that hosts project sales. We host project pages, collect payments, and distribute commitments following a successful Group Buy. We do not perform fulfillment, customer support, troubleshooting, or anything post-settlement.
How does TGBE you protect buyers from holding the bag should a Group Buy go wrong?
Short answer: we can’t.
Medium answer: we can’t fully protect you and you are responsible for your own actions. By using this site, you acknowledge that sometimes things just don’t work out. But, during this beta period, we’re only working with folks who know the founder directly and have had previous success with Group Buys. Further, TGBE protects your personal data (your commitments, your contact details, credit card numbers, etc.) and only shares the pertinent information (your e-mail address) with the runner if your purchase goes through.
In the future, we’ll be using background checks, ID verification, reference checks, and a host of other controls to minimize the chances runners are people who act in bad faith.
